CLAUDIO POZZANI

Claudio Pozzani (b. 1961) is an Italian poet, novelist, musician, and cultural organizer renowned for his dynamic poetic performances and international literary outreach. In 1995, he founded the Genoa International Poetry Festival, Parole Spalancate, Italy’s longest-running and largest poetry event, which he continues to direct. His poems have been translated into over ten languages and featured in numerous international anthologies and journals. Pozzani's literary works include the poetry collection Spalancati spazi – Poesie 1995–2016, the novel Kate et moi, and the hybrid CD/book La Marcia dell’ombra. Beyond his writing, he has spearheaded cultural initiatives across Europe and Asia, co-founded the European poetry platform Versopolis in 2015, and established the Stanza della Poesia in Genoa’s Palazzo Ducale. His contributions have earned him accolades such as the Premio Catullo and the Montale Fuori di Casa award, solidifying his status as a key figure in contemporary European poetry.
